Kolkata: For the first time in the history of Bengal, arch rival TMC and CPM came together on a issue. Left Front chairman Biman Basu supported state government’s decision banning Bishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia’s entry in Bengal.
Basu said that religious extremist like Togadia can not be allowed to disrupt the communal harmony in the state.
Well the decision was a calculated one by the Left front to tap on the minority vote bank it lost to Trinamool Congress.
The WB government has issued a circular which states that anyone who disrupts the communal harmony will not be allowed to enter the premises of the state. The circular has been sent to all the law and order bodies and institutions of the state. The circular also states that the President of Viswa Hindu Parishad, Praveen Togadia has been prohibited from entering in any district of West Bengal.
