Kolkata: Following the repeated incidents of harassment of teachers, the education minister gave a strong message saying, no such offender will walk free. But two TMCP leaders again allegedly harassed teachers. On Tuesday, Riyazuddin Laskar and Sabujktigan Laskar alias Babu ghreaoed teachers. The incident took place in the Kultali B R Ambedkar College of South 24 Parganas. Professors complained that Principal Siuli Saha was behind this incident.
According to sources, TMCP unit gheraoed the professors after the college time was over. They gheraoed and staged protest. Professor Sangamitra Sarkar complains, when we go to sign, the boys of the union close the college gate. Then we went to the Principal and want to know any notice was issued to close the gate. At that time, their former GS and Vice President Riyazuddin Laskar and Babu, both of them, spoke with us in very terse language. After that incident professors have filed complaints against these two against Kultali police station.
Siuli Saha said that why did professors leave the collge before time? She also said to Kolkata24x7 that no one stopped the gate. They argued with the students only.
According to professors, full time professors have applied for bio-metric for a long time. But Principal is not letting it happen in any way. According to a professor, if we work less then it will be caught by Bio-metric. Why is she not putting it in college? Will there be any problem with the bio-metric?
TMCP Convener Jaya Dutta said, this is the internal isuues of the college. I talked to the principal. She said no such incident happened. If they found guilty then appropriate action will be taken.
