TMC workers ransack police outpost, beat up officials


Hoogly: Incidents of Police being brutally assaulted by the ruling party members have become a regular issue in the state. It was nothing new in Hoogly’s Chapdani area where a post outpost was allegedly ransacked by TMC supports holding party flags for searching the bike of a relative of an outgoing TMC councilor.

On Sunday morning police was conducting regular search in the area when they stopped the bike of a relative of outgoing TMC councilor Bikram Gupta. Reacting to this the TMC supporters ransacked the Police station and allegedly beat up police officers on duty. Several policemen have been severely injured in the incident and they have been admitted in the local hospital. Police Jeeps and bikes were also ransacked by the TMC supporters drawing criticism from all over the state.

The Trinamool leadership has refused to comment on the incident
