TMC MLA Iqbal Questioned Over Narada Issue


Kolkata: TMC MLA Iqbal Ahmed was questioned for 2 hours on Tuesday at Lalbazar over the Narada issue.

On Tuesday, at around 5pm, Iqbal Ahmed, TMC MLA arrived at Lalbazar. As per reports, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) enquired about Iqbal’s relations with the Narada news (web portal) CEO, Matthew Samuel. As per sources from Lalbazar, his statement would be recorded at Lalbazaar. Tajdar Ahmed would be summoned next by Lalbazaar. He is an acquaintance of Iqbal Ahmed. He might have been the link between Iqbal Ahmed and Matthew Samuel.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Lalbazaar had summoned Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) leader Iqbal Ahmed on Monday.

Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has ordered a probe on part of the state government. Following the order, the Kolkata Police lead by CP Rajiv Kumar made several advancements in the case. Email has been sent to Narada news web portal. The hotel where Matthew Samuels stayed was raided. Travel agencies, he used to purchase tickets were also raided. A notice was also sent to Narada chief Mathew Samuels.

Narada news (web portal) had released videos which showed several TMC leaders taking bribes from a ficticious company and promising favours in return.
