TMC Martyrs’ day: Supporters flood city streets


Kolkata: The stage is set. The soldiers are arriving in the scene to hear their General address them on the last Martyrs Day before the state undergoes Vidhan Sabha polls in 2016.

The TMC workers have arrive since last night to hear their leaders on the occasion of the annual martyrs’ day where Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee is the main speaker. TMC workers and supporters have started arriving at the city since last night with rallies of black heads could be seen through the streets of the Kolkata literally bringing the Traffic to a standstill and giving a tough time to the Police personnel manning the city streets. The Local as the express trains connecting the city with the districts have virtually been overtaken by the TMC workers bound for Kolkata.

From the stage, Mamata and other TMC leaders are likely to blow the Bigul of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls in the state. The TMC government, with still a Minister behind the bars in the multi crore Saradha scam, is likely to raise its slogans against the central government with the allegations of Political vendetta.

From Lalit Modi to the Vyapam, the Central Government will be reeling under pressure with the commencement of the Monsoon session of the Parliament from Tuesday itself. the TMC with its 35 member strength in the lower house of the Parliament is likely to raise their voice against the BJP led government at the centre which is also giving a tough time to the TMC in the state as well.

Like the previous years, this year too the people coming to witness the martyrs day may be welcomed a songs and dances from renowned stars of the silver screen. But whatever be the scheduled program, the camera of media persons will be focused on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the message she gives out to her party workers and the people of Bengal before the commencement of the elections.
