Malda: The state committee of the Trinamool Congress party has issued a whip to stop factional feud within the party in the setting up of Malda district parishad’s permanent Samiti. Suvendu Adhikari had strongly instructed to solve the issue of problems within the party.
According to party sources, Suvendu Adhikari had himself sent a list of names of members of the permanent Samiti. Based on it, the Samiti was formed on Monday. The workforce will be decided on November 20 and on this too, the state leadership will give notification.
This year, in the Malda Zila Parishad election, TMC got 29 out of 38 seats. Due to the death of a candidate, voting was not done in one of the seats of the Gajal constituency. Hence, this year, voting for 37 seats were held. TMC took charge of the Zila Parishad by winning.
Monday was the scheduled date for setting up of the parishad. A competition was there amongst the members about who will take which samiti. There was pressure in the district leadership to get the samitis of their choice. Due to factional feud, the district leadership appeared before the state leadership. The state leadership had to intervene as a result.
So Suvendu sent his signed instructions on Sunday night following which the samiti was set up. But the members have not been elected yet.
