TMC expresses displeasure over Minister attending Opposition prog

CoochBehar: Trinamool congress expressed displeasure on learning that a minister of West Bengal cabinet has been sent invitation to inaugurate the 25th district conference of West Bengal Teachers Association (WBTA) which is affiliated to the congress. A trinamool MP has been invited as the chief guest for programme.

The conference will be held on 8 March at Okrabari Alabkas High School in Dinhata area of Coochbehar. But why has TMC leaders been invited at a programme by the opposition?

WBTA District President Sishir Sarkar has said that there is nothing wrong in attending a programme of the opposition since both are Nationalist parties.

TMC District President and MLA Rabindranath Ghosh has expressed immense displeasure at the incident. He said that without the permission of the party, no Minister or MP can attend a meeting of any other party without informing the leadership. We will look into the matter and inform the state leadership.

Minister Binay Krishna Barman said that he doesn’t even know that his name has been announced as the inaugurator. He also clearly said that he won’t be available for the Programme.
