TMC banners and flags burnt, opposition accused


Bolpur: Tension spread in Bolpur’s Ward no. 2 over the burning of TMC flags and banner. The allegations have been leveled against the opposition CPI(M) and the BJP. A complaint has also been filed by Trinamool Congress in this regard in Bolpur Police Station. The opposition rebuffed all the allegations against them and has accused the faction fight within the TMC for the incident.

TMC’s Indira Singh is the candidate of ward no 2 of the Bolpur Municipality. It has been alleged that posters, banners and festoons of TMC in front of their election office of TMC was set on fire by the some miscreants. She said, “The opposition has come to know that they won’t be winning the elections, so they are burning the posters to make the voters afraid. We don’t want any violence. But we will guard our banners and festoons at night.”
