TMC accused of running ‘Gundaraj’ by Md. Salim

Raiganj: Mohammad Salim a CPM leader and also a Member of Parliament from Raiganj has accused the TMC of running “Gundaraj” in the state.

Violent clash broke out on Saturday at Islampur’s Ramganj area between two groups over the control of an illegal lottery stall. As police rushed in to control the situation, goons attacked the police injuring many personnel. The culprits then attacked the police outpost.

On Saturday, Salim went to meet the injured police personnel. He accused TMC of sheltering the goons.

Police officer Bhaivab Tiwari said that 11 people have been arrested so far, and have been produced at the Islampur Court. The court remanded three people in police custody and seven in jail custody for fourteen days.
