Only Time Will Tell Whether Ritabrata Would Join BJP Or Cong?

Piku Mukherjee (Argha) Kolkata:  The Communist Party of India (Marxist) summarily expelled Rajya Sabha MP Ritabrata Banerjee from the party for “anti-party” activities, two days after his tell-all interview to a regional television channel, where he leveled many allegations against senior leaders of the party. Mr. Banerjee stands expelled under section 19 (13) of the party Constitution. Section 19 deals with party discipline and clause 13, the last clause is invoked against those who break the party line.

But after that rumors which spread, Ritabrata is going to join BJP but Expelled CPIM leader Rajya Sabha said boldly that only time will tell whether he would join BJP or not. Ritabrata told this in an interview in Republic TV.

A little twist may likely to happen in Ritabrata’s political career.  In a recent report published by the Kolkata TV expel CPM leader likely to join congress. Political think tank clarified thatIf it happens then surely it will boost the party’s work progress. Congress leader also said that if Ritrabrata wants to join our party then we will surely welcome him. But again there is no word from Ritabrata. He remains silent on his next move. When he asked for that he did not answer.  In a word,  he follow his word “time will tell” whether he would join BJP or Congress.

Earlier, Ritabrata Slammed CPM’s policies, Banerjee said, “In this era where 54% of India’s population is (aged) 25 years, CPM has failed to address this population.” Banerjee, who had faced flak over alleged lavish lifestyle and reportedly spending a whopping Rs. 69.25 lakh on travel expenses in a year.

Ritabrata, who was touted to be the next big thing for the Communist Party, has been surrounded by controversies one after another. Banerjee was suspended on June 2 by the Left party for three months over his lavish lifestyle. Before that on February 23, CPI-M had cautioned Banerjee over the raging controversy in the social media involving him.
