Tihar superintendent suspended over jailbreak


New Delhi: The superintendent of Tihar Jail has been suspended over the escape of two inmates from the prison on June 28.

The Delhi police have arrested the second inmate named Javed from his ancestral village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district. He had escaped from the jail along with another prisoner on June 28.

Both the prisoners had scaled a wall and dug a tunnel in the middle of the night to escape from the jail. The incident came to the notice of the jail authorities when both the inmates were found missing during the morning roll call.
