Thirteen pilgrims killed in van-truck collision

Jamsedhpur: Thirteen pilgrims including six women were killed in a road accident on Friday and 11 others were injured when a pick-up van in which they were travelling collided with a speeding truck on the NH-33 near Jamsedhpur.

The pilgrims were returning from Puri when their vehicle collided head on with a speeding truck near Chowka, about 40 km from Jamsedhpur in Seraikela-Kharswan district in the early hours of Friday morning.

All the victims were the residents of Andra Bazar of Siwan in Bihar. 11 people were killed on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
