Piku Mukherjee, Kolkata: The Ajmer-Sealdah express train derailed near Rura railway station in Kanpur’s Dehat district on Wednesday. After that Kolkata24x7 called Sukla Mitra, one of the victims of the train tragedy and his son Chironjib Mitra.
Sukla Mitra told us the horrified incident. She told us that they were going to Rajasthan for picnic. Total thirty five persons are in their group. Sukla Mitra is a resident of West Midnapore. According to her, train went slowly when the mishap took. She also said that suddenly a horrible sound made them haphazard. They are all scared till now. They didn’t understand what’s going on. All things were ransacked. After that railway rescue team reached and rescued them from train. Some of her group was injured in this mishap. They were all given first aid and all of them taken to nearest station by railway’s relief train.
Her son Chironjib Mitra told Kolkata24x7 “his mom is well and she (Sukla Mitra) said that nothing for worried. Chironjib thanked god for saving his mom. He also told that without his mother no one in his life. Chironjib Mitra also lived in Midnapore. After hearing the news he called his mother several times. He also left Midnapore on New Year for his job.
Thirteen coaches of the Ajmer-Sealdah express, derailed when it was crossing a bridge over a dry canal today. No casualty is there according to preliminary reports. A rescue team has rushed to the spot and a medical relief train from Kanpur has also been sent to the accident site. Currently we are focusing on relief and rescue operations,” Railway spokesperson Anil Saxena said.
