Terrorists Holed Up In Anantnag Villages, Search Op On


Srinagar: The joint team of Army’s first Rashtriya Rifles and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police have laid a cordon in several villages on Thursday.

The cordon has been laid in Baghpora, Magraypora of Marhama in Bijbehara in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district after some inputs of militants hiding there.

A search operation is currently going on.

Earlier on Wednesday night, security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Kakapora area of Pulwama around 6 pm following information about presence of militants there, a police official said. As the security forces were conducting the searches, they were fired upon by some hiding militants, he said.

3 Lashkar terrorists were neutralised at the end of the operation. 3 AK47 rifles and ammunition recovered.
