Terrorists strike Udhampur, two policemen injured

Udhampur: Two policemen have been injured in a fierce gunbattle between the Security forces and terrorists in the second attack of the day at Basantgarh area of Udhampur. A police post in the remote area of Udhampur was attacked by militants in which  two Special Police Officers (SPO) were injured. The Police outpost at Basantgarh was attacked at around 9:15 Pm injuring the two officers as the security personnel deployed in there retaliated to the firing. Quick response team of the Indian Army has reached the spot and the gunbattle continues.    

Army personnel and additional police have been rushed in the area to deal with the situation. Udhampur District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal said that the area is very remote and dark, so the number of militants hiding in the area can't be confirmed.  As per the latest reports, the gunfire is still being heard and the security personnel are engaged in fierce gunbattle with the terrorists.
