Tinsukia/Imphal: Terrorists struck the North Eastern states of Assam and Manipur on 66th Republic Day. Two small intensity blasts occurred in the Oil rich Digboi area in the Tinsukia district of Assam.
One of the blasts occurred near the ATM of State Bank of India, while another blast occurred beside the railway tracks.
Senior Police official AP Tiwari said that the blast near the tracks occurred a few moments after a goods train passed from the spot.
No casualties were reported since both the places were deserted at the time of the blast. Terror organization ULFA chief Arunoday Bohotiya has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
On the other, a small intensity blast also occurred at Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. According to reports, a large police force have been deployed in the area in the aftermath of the blasts.
