Tension in North Bengal over Assam earthquake


Jalpaiguri: The people of North Bengal had spent sleepless nights after the devastating earthquake which rocked Nepal on 25 April. Now again in the wee hours of Sunday morning earthquake rocked Assam along with parts of North Bengal and rest of Eastern India.

Mild earthquake was felt at 6:35 Am on Sunday morning. Tension spread among the residents of North Bengal following the earthquake. Along with Jalpaiguri, quake was also felt at Siliguri, Balurghat, Maldah and Murshidabad. Mild tremors were also felt at Kolkata. Although there was no damage to life or property, people came out of their homes due to the earthquake.
