Lucknow: Following a communal clash on Wednesday night, tension prevailed in Sighawali-Ahir village in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Four persons have also been arrested by for breaching peace and harmony in the area. Additional security forces have also been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
The incident occurred when a villager named Mohammad Shabbir asked for a loan of 15,000 from a shopkeeper named Praveen Kumar. When Praveen refused, Shabbir and his friends attacked Praveen.
Later Shabbir’s son Mohammad Alauddin was also attacked by some people from the larger community. Both sides assembled and attacked each other with sharp weapons leaving three injured.
Dharmendra Pawar, Station House Officer said, “We have arrested Shabbir, his son Sariq and Praveen along with his son Raj Kumar. Police force is there in the village.”
