Kolkata: Kolkata Metro services were completely disrupted on Friday after technical glitches hit 2 metro stations in the afternoon.
As per sources the metro rake started malfunctioning at the Jatin Das Park Metro station. The railways were evacuated immediately and metro services were disrupted. Maidan to Tollyguange metro services were suspended too. Post this, another similar malfunction was reported at the Tollyguange metro station where witnesses claimed to see smoke coming out from metro rakes. Passengers were evacuated and services were disrupted for at least 10 minutes.
The metro railways officials are trying to solve the glitch as soon as possible. They allege that the huge number of passengers boarding the train has lead to the malfunction of the metro rakes. The authorities have decided to break the journey until the situation is under complete control. The trains will travel from New Garia to Tollyguange and the other end to Dum Dum.
The several other trains, which were left stranded due to the technical swag, is being passed through other lines. The trains are reportedly moving in a sloth-like speed.
