Technical Glitch Halts Metro Operation In Park Street Station


Kolkata: The Kolkata metro service was partially disrupted on Monday after  technical snag was reported from a non air conditioning metro rake at Park Street Station around 11:55am.The technical glitch halted operations on the down line due to the technical snag.Metro services at the down line was closed from 11:55am to 12:00pm.As a result,commuters had to face problem at the beginning of the week due to the metro glitch.

Earlier, on June 4th current year metro service was disrupted after a Dum Dum-bound AC rake got stranded at the Sovabazar, and the co-incidence is it was also a Monday morning.In the recent days several snags faced by the metro trains has left the commuters in trouble. The train entered the station and stopped as usual to allow passengers to get off and board the coaches. Later, the motorman failed to restart the train.On this day by 9:58am technical glitch was reported in an AC rake.The metro services was disrupted for nearly twenty three minutes.Passengers were asked to get down from the compartment.  The passengers burst out with anger.

The CPRO(Chief Public Relation Officer) of the Kolkata Metro Railway Indrani Banerjee said, “Due to technical glitches, the rakes are getting crippled.Meanwhile, we are looking into the matter that why such technical snags are appearing frequently.”
