Kolkata: CPM stages protest for the death of tea garden workers in front of tea board in Kolkata on Monday, said sources. More than 350 tea workers have died in the last year. According to political scenario CPM has used the death of tea workers as a weapon to rally against the ruling party.
The CPM sources said, they will stage location rally from noon till evening 6, in front of Tea Board. The participants of the rally are Kolkata District CPM, eleven trade unions and 12 district committees. In their rally, demand will be made to change tea plantation law. And bring up the issue of the worsening situation of government owned tea gardens. They will collect money on 17th January from across the state to support and help the tea workers.
According to CPM, Tea garden death is a burning issue like Saradha before the elections.
