Kolkata: Passengers undergoes a lot of trouble as taxi strike continues on its second day. Demanding a rise in taxi fares and other issues Taxi drivers went on a two day strike from Thursday. On Friday, passengers at the Kolkata airport and Howrah Station were worstly affected by the Taxi strike.
According to sources, the auto drivers are demanding more fares from passengers for smaller distances; some have even demanded Rs.1200. North and South Kolkata both are entirely affected by the two day strike of taxis. Several taxis are stranded on the streets but none of them are ready to go for a ride. When approached they are demanding exceptionally high rates, said sources.
