New Delhi: Tata Motors launched its sub-compact sedan- Tigor in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variants of the car are priced at between Rs 4.70 – 6.19 lakh (ex-Delhi) and the diesel variant ranges from Rs 5.60 – 7.09 lakh (ex-Delhi). The car is available in four variants and six colour options.

Sedan variant of Tiago
The face of Tata Tigor is similar to that of Tata Tiago, it gets the same headlamp cluster and the front grille. The differentiator between the two is the dual-coloured bumper and smoked headlamps which is not the same on the compact sedan.
The rear of the car is sharp and the boot is integrated with the car in a nice manner making the car look less boxy. It also gets black plastic cladding at the bottom rear of the car. The petrol variants of Tata Tigor gets 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the diesel variants hosts the 15-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside
The top-end variants – XZ (O) of Tigor gets steering mounted control for music and calls. Moreover, it gets a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman with 8 speakers.
The cabin is spacious and roomy. The top-variants also features a park assist system with rear parking camera. Tata Motors is also offering 24 utility spaces on the Tigor.
Under the hood
Tata Motors is offering its 1.2L Revotron petrol and the 1.05L Revotorq diesel engines on the Tata Tigor. The engine has been borrowed from Tata Tiago and hence shares a similar power range.
While the petrol engine sheds out 85 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque, the three-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement is 1047 cc gives a maximum power output of 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The car takes on rivals like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Ford Figo Aspire and Hyundai Xcent.
