‘Tallest Statue Of Sardar Patel Won’t Diminish Importance Of Indira Gandhi’


Kolkata: On 34th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Present Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled world’s tallest statue in Gujrat.

Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi has slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. West Bengal Pradesh Congress President Somen Mitra has also taken the same path to deal with the issue.

Remembering the contribution of Indira Gandhi, he said that on Wednesday that “I am respectful to Sardar Ballab Bhai Patel but it won’t diminish the importance of Indira Gandhi at all.”

The Death anniversary of Indira Gandhi and birth anniversary of Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel observed on the same day. Congress has manifested their tribute to both of them with equal dignity.

Slamming PM Modi, Somen Mitra said that “Ballab Bhai Patel will be remembered if he is being made in China but he is made in India.”

Importantly, the 182-metre high ‘Statue of Unity’ in honour of country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel situated over Narmada river in Keuria of Gujrat.

This has built on Sadhu Bet Island on Narmada river, the imposing statue is touted to be the world’s tallest. This has sparked huge controversy among the common people and politicians.
