ChandanNagar: Deadly Swine Flu strikes the sun urban area of Kolkata, with a case of death from the H1N1 virus being reported from Chandannagar. The victim has been identified as Rupali Saha, a resident of the town. According to reports, a team from the West Bengal Health Department has already reached her house and are carrying out disinfection processes.
Earlier in September last year, three cases of Swine Flu was reported from Kolkata. Among the infected people, one was the resident of Jharkhand while two were from Kolkata. The disease had claimed the life of the patient from Jharkhand.
Till Feb 11, ten cases of Swine Flu infection has been reported in the city. The tests are being run at the National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED) facility in Beleghata.
Steps are being taken to counter the disease. The central medical store has been instructed to stock Oseltemavir tablets and masks. Hospitals have been asked to be ready with the facilities of treating the patients with the deadly Virus.
