Swagatam Halder Tops West Bengal HS Exams

Kolkata: West Bengal Higher Secondary results have been declared on Monday at 10am. This year Kolkata’s name takes its apex position in the HS results from the state. Swagatam Halder stood first from the Panchasayar Sikshya Niketan with 495 marks. He stood ninth in his Madhyamik examinations. Thus, a talented student, from the beginning.

Quite naturally, Swagatam’s happiness knows no bounds after receiving such great news. He gave credit to his mother for his brilliant results. He said that his mother’s immense contribution has resulted in acquiring first position by Swagatam. She was his first Physics teacher. Swagatam did not even forget to thank all his teachers.

After acquiring the first position, Swagatam said, “I knew that I would score well, but I never knew that I would score so well.” He also said that “I had started studying for my HS soon after Madhyamik. Though securing the first position in HS was not my aim.  Joint exam is knocking at the door. I would have to give the other upcoming exams very well.”

Swagatam lets us know about his hobbies as well. “I listen to the FM when I am free. I used to read Satyajit Ray. Now I am reading Manik Bandhyopadhyay, Tarashankar’s books. My favourite character is Sherlock Holmes.

Such a brilliant result yet no celebration for Swagatam. He has decided that there would be no celebration as he has his Joint examination the next day, that is, Tuesday. His father is a doctor. But yet he dreams to study engineering.
