New Delhi: Even before the completion of one year into the Swach Bharat Campaign, the campaign head of the project, VijayaLakshni Joshi has taken a voluntary retirement and has quit from his post.
Joshi, who is a Gujarat cadre IAS officer has not given any reason for the voluntary retirement and has quit from her post. She was secretary at the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
The government was reportedly unhappy with the slow pace of work in the project. Modi has launched his pet ‘Clean India’ project campaign on October 2, 2015 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti which was aimed at cleaning up the country and improving the sanitation facilities across the country.
