Live Bomb found in Farrukhabad Railway Station


Lucknow: A live bomb was found on a platform of the Farrukhabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, triggering panic and forcing authorities to evacuate the area.

People found the device on platform number one of the railway station after hearing a beeping sound emanating from it. Bomb squad has been rushed to the station to defuse the device. Witnesses said the bomb was wrapped with tape and had a circuit and a timer device.

After the locals informed police, Government Railway Police personnel cordoned off the railway station. Movement around the station has been banned. A bomb disposal squad was sent to Farrukhabad from Kanpur to defuse the explosive device, officials said.

The route of several trains was changed following the discovery of the bomb.
