Sushma calls on Chinese President Xi Jinping

Beijing: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is on a visit to China, met Chinese President Xi Jinping at Beijing. The Chinese President said that both the countries have taken solid steps to step up cooperation and implement the agreement reached between him and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the meeting with Swaraj at the Great Hall of People, the Chinese President said, “I have full confidence on the future of China and India relations and I believe that good progress will be achieved in the growth of bilateral relations this year.”

He also said that the relation between the two countries have entered into a new stage ever since his visit to India in September last year. He also added that the positive side of China-India relationship has been on the rise with proper steps being taken to implement the agreements between him and Narendra Modi.
