Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput, who had played Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Neeraj Pandey’s M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, will reportedly be seen essaying the role of The Great Khali in the wrestler’s biopic. As per a DNA report, Rajput has been approached for the role and has agreed to be on board. Although, no formalities have been completed so far.
The Great Khali, whose actual name is Dalip Singh Rana, is an Indian-born American wrestler. The high point of his career was in the year 2007, when he won the WWE’s World Heavy Weight Championship. The wrestler was employed in Punjab state police as an officer, before he took up wrestling full-time. He has also appeared in a couple of television, his most famous stint being Bigg Boss.
The studio which is helming the project have reportedly gotten the rights to make a film on the wrestler’s life. Although there are absolutely no similarities between Khali and Rajput in terms of built, the makers will have to resort to some heavy VFX.
The Raabta actor is currently prepping for his astronaut role in Sanjay Puran Singh’s space-adventure film Chauhan’s Chanda Mama Door Ke. The film is reportedly in trouble after the producers opted out of it right at the last minute, given the failure of Raabta at the box office.
