Howrah: In yet another show of dictatorial attitude of the ruling party, alleged TMC workers on Thursday, heckled opposition leader Surya Kant Mishra in Howrah’s Uday Narayanpur area.
Mishra who went to the area to distribute relief material to the flood victims had been held hostage inside his car by Trinamool supporters. They also shout slogans urging Mishra to go away. Police rushed to the spot and deployed RAF to contain the situation.
The opposition had earlier accused the Mamata government of preventing them from coordinating in the relief works. The state has suffered at least 125 deaths and property worth in crores damaged due to the recent flood with the southern district affected he most.
