Supreme Court directs CBI probe into Vyapam Scam

New Delhi: The apex court of the court on Thursday directed a CBI probe into the high profile Vyapam Scam of Madhya Pradesh. The Supreme Court transfers all the cases related to the Vyapam Scam to the CBI after Attorney General tells court that the agency can probe the case. The next date of hearing of the case is scheduled on July 24.

Earlier Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said that he would be recommending a CBI probe into the matter to honour public sentiments. So far nearly 48 persons connected with the scam have died under mysterious circumstances.

The Supreme Court criticised the Madhya Pradesh High Court saying that instead of taking a decision the Madhya Pradesh High Court washed off its hands and have put the ball in their court.

Reacting to the order of the apex court CM Chouhan said, “There was a burden in my heart. I am relieved that the CBI will probe and get to the truth.”
