New Delhi: Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists attacked Sunjuwan Army camp on early Saturday morning at around 4:55am. The incident has claimed lives of two Army officers.
As per sources, there are 3-4 terrorists and they aimed at the family quarter of the camp. At least two soldiers were killed while several others including an Armymen’s daughter injured after Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists stormed the Sunjwan Army camp in Jammu on Saturday.
The terrorists entered from the rear side of Sunjwan Army camp where family quarters are located, DGP S P Vaid said. “Around 4:55 am suspicious movement was noticed by the sentry and his bunker was fired upon. The fire was retaliated. The number of militants isn’t known. They’ve been cornered in one of the family quarters,” DGP S P Vaid told reporters in Jammu.
At least four RPT four persons, including an Army personnel’s daughter, have been injured, officials said. The militants, who are believed to be around three, have been isolated, they said.
Intelligence inputs had warned an attack on the Army or security establishment by Jaish-e-Mohammed in view of the death anniversary of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat on February 9 and February 11, respectively.
