New Delhi: Sunanda Pushkar’s death takes a new turn with Delhi police claiming that she was murdered. Pushkar, wife of former union minister Sashi Tharoor was found dead in a five-star hotel of New Delhi on 17th January last year.
A Three member medical team comprising of the doctors of All India Institute of Medical Sciences today declared that her death was not natural. Police have registered a case of murder in this regard.
At a press conference, Delhi police Commissioner Vimsen Bassi said “Her death was caused due to poisoning. 10 injury marks were found on her body. Ethyl alcohol, acetaminophen were dound in her body. 15 drug tablets were also found”.
There was huge uproar after Sunanda’s body was found in the hotel. Primarily it was suspected that her husband Sashi Tharoor was behind her death though there were also rumors that she had committed suicide. Today’s medical report gave a new angle to the case which has already started heating up the political atmospheres.
Investigation has been started by Delhi police and hunt is on in search of the murderer.
