Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced that sugar, tea leaves and kerosene will be included in the list of items to be provided through ration shops. The decision was taken at a review meeting of food and supplies department.
Cooperative minister Jay kumar Singh told that sugar was taken out of the PDS outlets’ list almost two decades ago.
He said that every family would get 2 kg of sugar every month from PDS shops and the families would also get 2.5 litre of kerosene monthly.
It is also decided in the meeting to provide tea leaves in subsidized rates to the underprivileged families.
