Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday issued directions to install CCTV cameras in all board examination centers by December to check cheating. Rajive Kumar, Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh, said that the move is aimed to ensure copying-free board exams to be held across the state. Kumar added that move has been taken with a purpose to bring improvement in the quality of education in the schools; a better work plan should be made in the span of 10 days.
Issuing direction to all the schools across the state, Kumar further added that parents-teachers meetings should be held regularly so that the parents know the education-related progress of their children. PM Narendra Modi, while addressing an pre-election rally in Gonda earlier this year, had alleged that tenders are being floated to adopt wrong practices in examinations, like mass copying under Samajwadi Party rule.
“In Gonda, even theft is carried out as a trade…tenders are floated for allotting examination centres…this is not good for anyone and this should be stopped…this auction of examination centres should be stopped,” he had said.
