Kolkata: Already plagued with continuous student unrest and corruption charges, education institutes in West Bengal have again witnessed massive unrest at Syamaprasad College in Kolkata on Tuesday.
The students belonging to the ruling government’s student wing TMCP, has held hostage the principal of Syamaprasad College alleging rampant corruption in the institute in the ongoing admission procedure. Police rushed to the spot to contain the situation but the students refused to entertain any dialogue.
The college authorities on the other hand bowed down to students demand and have assured that a review committee will be formed to look into the corruption charges. The committee will also include representative from the student community of the college.
