Students beaten up at JU for Ragging protest


Kolkata: Two youths were allegedly beaten up for protesting against ragging in Jadavpur Hostel. Tension spread in the Jadavpur University following the incident in which two youths named Partha Mal and Jahiuddin Hossain were severely injured.

According to sources, both the students were beaten up by other students when they protested against the ragging. They were even thrown out of the hostel.

Vice Chancellor Suranjan Das said that he has heard about the incident and will be taking stringent action in the matter. He said that the entire incident has been reported to the anti-ragging committee of the University.
