Student robbed of two lakh with fake JU admission promise

Kolkata: A student from Jharkhand was cheated Rs Two lakh by a group who assured that they will get him admitted into the Electrical Engineering Department of the Jadavpur University.

The student and his father have alleged that they had received an SMS saying that admission in any College in B.Tech is possible through the Management Quota on the payment of Rs One Lakh. The student and his father were called into the Jadavpur University and was demanded one lakh more which the victim gave to the members of the racket following which they failed the contact the members.

When they went to the University they found that the student has not been admitted at the University. The victim has lodged a complaint with the Jadavpur Police Station in this regard. The Registrar of the University has also written to the Police that a false admission racket is active inside the University Campus. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
