Haldia: Work stoappage at berth number 8 and 13 in Haldia dock.Due to that two ships of Steel Authority of India limited are (1) Mv Eva at Berth No. 13 (2) Mv Petral Bulker , both carrying Australian Coking coal for SAIL’s steel plants at Bokaro, Durgapur and Burnpur (IISCO) are waiting in the dock.SAIL will have to incur demurrage costs of Rs.12,00,000 Per day because of these two ships waiting at the port without work in addition to facing shortage of raw materials at their steel plants.

According to source the particular agency for those two berths is demanding more for loading unloading. That agency is blackmailing them for higher rates even though the ceiling rates have been fixed by port @ Rs.119.49 Per Metric Ton and it quoted the highest royalty bid of Rs.14.77 Per Metric Ton. IT want more money from SAIL beyond the Ceiling Rates fixed by KoPT.
