Kolkata: West Bengal Congress Chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has criticised government mentioning a death of one aged woman died starving in Purulia. He asked for the full data of starving people in the state.
Bimala Pandey, 75 years old woman resident of Beladi of Jhalda in Purulia on August 9. The family has complained that she died in starvation. The son of him said that Abir Pandey goes missing 30 years back. Sister got married but he could not manage a work. So begging is the only option for him.
He complained that, no response after informing Panchayat. They have voter cards and Adhaar Card but can not access to the ration shop and several schemes of Central Government.
The Congress supremo criticised it after it came in public light. He said that, “It is a matter of shame that people are dying starving in West Bengal. A fresh list should come out of starving people in West Bengal as all the glitter are not gold.”
Taking Chowdhury’s point in account Bharatiya Janata Party has boldly criticised the ruling party saying, People are dying without food and government is observing several significant programme throughout the year.
