State rides on e-Governance and 100 days’ work

Kolkata: The targeted public distribution system has been thoroughly overhauled through massive e-Governance and end-to-end computerisation. 91 lakh bogus ration cards have been cancelled. The digitisation of ration cards has touched the figure of 7.80 crores whish is an unprecedented success, said Amit Mitra in his Budget.

Not only that, he went on to say that West Bengal occupies first position in the country with regard to expenditure on 100 days work programme. The State has also set a record in the average annual person-day employment generation. In connection to Mamata’s complaint regarding funds from the centre, Amit Mitra said that inadequate and untimely flow of funds from Government of India is severely affecting this programme.
