Kolkata: West Bengal governor Kesharinath Tripathi said after visiting the occurring place that blame-game started over the collapse of Majerhat bridge.
In a statement of Raj Bhavan it has been highlighted repeatedly that “more better maintenance was needed. The report has published that there were jumbo holes on the bridge. I don’t know that PWD has noticed that or not.”
West Bengal Governor has visited the tragic incident place and urged local people to co-operate in the rescue process. He added, those who are responsible for maintainence they must examine the bridge and the situation.
The bridge is the lifeline of the city as it connects Behala, Maheshtala to the city. Hundreds of vehicles ply through the bridge everyday. The locals have accused
the authorities of major negligence on their part.
