State Level Vendor Development Programme Organised At Howrah

Kolkata: A one day State Level Vendor Development Programme for the SC or ST entrepreneurs was organized on Friday at Howrah.

The State Level Vendor Development Programme was organized at the premises of the NSIC-Technical Services Centre in Balitikuri at Howrah. The programme was attended by Eastern Railways, NTPC, Kolkata and Dalit Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Zonal General manager (East), Shri Suresh Karmali said that this vendor development programme has been organized for the benefit of entrepreneurs belonging to SC/ST community of Micro and Small Enterprises to discuss different aspects regarding obtaining orders from PSUs by these Micro and Small enterprises. Several other issues were discussed among them being about SPRS. SPRS stands for Single Point Registration Scheme for MSME to get exemption in EMD deposit in Government tender and application free of cost.

Representatives and units from various organizations attended the programme. Shri A Bandhopadhyay, General Manager (C&M), NTPC Eastern Region – I, Ms. Munmun Biswas, President of Dalit Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shri D. Chanda ,Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Kolkata appreciated the initiative taken by NSIC for the development and benefits of Micro, Small Enterprises (MSEs).

Shri A Bandhopadhyay, General Manager (C&M), NTPC Eastern Region – I gave presentation on the process of vendor empanelment across NTPC. NSIC has exempted to SC/ST units 100% fee for registration under SPRS. This comes as a big relief given to the SC/ST units.

NSIC is actively providing the marketing support to the micro and small enterprises to promote their products. It has implemented new schemes under which SC/ST entrepreneur may visit to the International/Domestic Exhibition/Trade Fair and NSIC shall subsidies upto 100% of the expenditure towards air or any way mode of fares 100% or minimum limit of Rs. 150.00 lakhs. This would be helpful for the units to display their products and to enhance their knowledge.

For MSME’s credit rating of the SC/ST units subsidy upto 75% are being provided towards the rating fee maximum upto Rs. 40,000 per unit for fresh rating and Rs. 10,000 for renewal of the rating.
