State honours ‘Pocket Hercules’ at his home


Kolkata:Respecting the feat achieved by the ‘Pocket Hercules’ Manohar Aich, the WB Government conferred the Banga Bibhushan honour to him on Wednesday. The Youth Development Minister of the State, Mr. Arup Biswas, personally went to the house of the Centurion muscleman to confer the honour. It remains as one of the most respectable spectacles on the part of the state government to felicitate Manohar Aich at his home. He is an Indian bodybuilder. He was born in Kumilla District of the East Bengal in a remote village named Dhamti. He won the first Mr Universe title in 1952 Mr. Universe-Group III championship. He is also a three-time Asian Games Gold Medalist in Body Building.

After winning the award, the Pocket Hercules of India said that it is only discipline and nutritious diet that helped him to stay fit even at this age.
