State Govt’s plea rejected by Apex Court

New Delhi: Triple blow to TMC on Thursday.  After Locket Chatterjee joining BJP from TMC and Srinjoy Bose’s resignation from the party, it was Supreme Court’s turn to turn down the West Bengal government and the Trinamool Congress’s plea for monitoring into CBI’s actions regarding the Saradha scam.

Noting that there was no allegation by the applicant that the CBI was not conducting the probe, the Supreme Court bench of Justice TS Thakur declined the plea seeking the top court’s monitoring of the case and alleging selective leaks by the probe agency.

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee had alleged that the BJP is influencing CBI’s action and are playing a major role in the arrest of TMC leaders. She even said that BJP is playing a political game related to the chitfund probe.
