Kolkata: The Bengal Government is seriously exploring the possibility of setting up eco-industrial parks, which includes the creation of a sustainable model for future units, as the State Government is committed to anything that is green, clean and sustainable.
Towards that end, it would soon initiate discussions with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
An eco-industrial park is a community of manufacturing and service businesses located together on a common property. It is also an initiative for a valid approach for scaling up resource efficiency and cleaner production in industrial zones. It is one of the practical ways for transition to green industry and achieving resource efficiency.
