State Govt Decides To Provides Farmers Monetary Aid


Kolkata: The State Government has decided to give monetary aid to farmers affected by floods and other natural disasters, totalling an amount of Rs 1,181.36 crore.

This was announced by the Agriculture Minister recently after a high-level meeting at the state secretariat, Nabanna. Under the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government, Bengal has made massive progress in agriculture.

It may be mentioned, the average annual earning by a farmer during financial year 2010-11 was only Rs 91,011, which has increased significantly over the last six years; now it is Rs 2,39,123.
