Kolkata: State government has decided to build a new flyover in south Kolkata running from Dhakuria to Sulekha More at Jadavpur.
Urban development minister Firhad Hakim said on Thursday that the proposed flyover will be 1.6 km long and will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 248.22 crore. The funds will come from the state’s planned budget.
The flyover will start from near Jadavpur police station, which is located at Prince Anwar Shah Road- Raja Subodh Chandra Mallick Road Crossing, and pass by Jadavpur University and Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand before terminating at Sulekha More at Jadavpur.
We have already issued a notice inviting tender for constructing the flyover. The plan is to complete and commission the flyover in two years, that is, by 2020,” Hakim said.
