Darjeeling: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata banerjee on Wednesday formed Board Of Administration to restore peace in hills. Mamata said that there is no possibility of election in Darjeeling right now and this board will work until election happens.
GJM leader Binay Tamang is appointed as the chairman of a new board of administrators to run the Darjeeling hills. The board chaired by Binay Tamang will govern the area that falls under the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also announced that her government will soon issue a notification in this regard and said the newly-formed board of administrators will undertake development works in the hills.
Banerjee added that the board of administrators will continue to function till an election was held to form an elected body in GTA.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister criticised Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for holding a meeting with GJM leaders against whom a lookout notice has been issued.
On the other hand the Calcutta High Court today raps the Mamata Government over the Durga immersion rules, says can’t restrict way society follows the rituals.
